Create a Lamp
Target User
Pasefika Chong Wong is a close friend and classmate who is a first-year Design student studying at the University of Auckland. She is New Zealand born of Samoan descent and comes from a large noisy household of nine, with her being the second youngest.
Pasefika is a lively personality. She is both reserved in temperament and sociable with people she is acquainted with. Furthermore, she is academically driven excelling in her interests and as a creative. On the other hand, her indecisiveness makes it difficult for her to commit to a decision.
Her insights are invaluable to me with respect to our shared love of Design and I view her as a potential partner in Design.
Our time in high school has given me a fair idea of her personal tastes which will aide in the design of her lamp to meet her expectations.
Design Statement
Creating an aesthetically pleasing lamp, that helps her study at night.
Visual and Specification Prototype
For the lamp project, we designed a visual prototype and a specification prototype.
The visual prototype focuses on what it looks and feels like. For a specification prototype, it focuses on the process of construction.

Visual prototyping is an effective way to communicate your idea to a client.
In the assignment I utilized the construction software, Fusion360, to model my sketched ideas into a 3d model to show my client.

Strengths
Strengths I found through this design process and documentation was:

I was able to complete the brief and design of the lamp for my client.

I gained knowledge of design methods for prototyping, using different construction software.

Sketching designs and helping my client find a suitable design.

Interviewing was essential in extracting useful information on client needs. Asking the right questions on acquiring the client's need.
